' <br />t¡l';;',-- Ii-, ' ", (;¡ i ' <br /> <br />Pa'ðe 608 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Where school facilities will not be adequate based on existing and <br />projected enrollment, new development will be expected to address <br />this inadequacy based on the cost incurred by Cabarrus County for <br />school capital facilities, The Board of Commissioners may consider <br />direct or indirect contributions to the adequacy of schools in the <br />form of cash contributions, dedication of land in a suitable area <br />based on the Cabarrus County Schools 15 Year Plan, or infrastructure <br />improvements that will directly benefit school sites. A combination <br />of these methods may also be considered. In no case shall the value <br />of the contribution be less than 12.5' of the incurred capital cost <br />of $8067 which is $1008. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />New development within the corporate limits of any of the cities and <br />towns located in Cabarrus County shall also be subject to the <br />adequacy review through the Cabarrus County Subdivision Regulations <br />Chapter 4, Section 17 "Adequate Public Facilities Standards,. as <br />provided for by Session Law 2004-39, House Bill, 224. which became <br />effective June 30, 2004. All new residential shall be reviewed for <br />the adequacy of school facilities. This review shall include <br />existing school capacity as well as the additional capacity of <br />schools under construction or for which funding of construction has <br />been ap~roved. In addition. the review, shall include the existing <br />enrollmènt and estimated enrollment based on previously approved <br />development. school adequacy shall be defined as that estimated <br />enrollment not exceeding 110' of capacity as determined by the ,I <br />Kannapolis and Cabarrus School Systems. <br /> <br />Adopted this the 16th day of August, 2004 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Frankie F. Freeman, Chairman <br /> <br />, (G-10) <br />Carolina <br /> <br />Resolution <br /> <br />Promoting <br /> <br />Health <br /> <br />Department <br /> <br />Accreditation <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />North <br /> <br />Commissioner Carpenter reported the Cabarrus Health Alliance Board <br />adopted a resolution ,on August 10 in support of a mandatory system of <br />accreditation for health departments. She stated the Cabarrus Health <br />Alliance was one of six health departments in North Carolina to receive <br />accreditation on May 28, 2004. <br /> <br />UPON KOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner <br />Privette and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution <br />promoting Health Department Accreditation in North Carolina. <br /> <br />aeaolution No. 2004-29 <br /> <br />RESOLUT~ON PReMOTING HEALTH DEPARTMENT ~CCREDITATIONIN NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Public Health Task Force 2004 was established in <br />mid-2003 to study public health in North Carolina and to devise an action <br />plan to strengthen public health infrastructure. improve health outcomes, and <br />eliminate health ðisparities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the six committees of the Task Force reflect the Task Force's six <br />focus areas: accreditation of state and local health departments; public <br />health structure and organization; public health funding; workforce <br />development and training; improving public health planning, resources and <br />health outcomes; and quality improvement and accountability; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Public Health Task Force 2004 recommendations on <br />accreditation are to establish state-level support for a mandatory system of <br />accreditation and to fund local health departments for the accreditation <br />process; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus Health Alliance was one <br />departments, to be accredited on May 28, ~004. <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />six North Carolina health <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />supports the legislation enacted pilot accreditation process for local health <br /> <br />Ç{.
