<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # <br /> <br />r- -I <br /> <br />Meeting Date 11/15/04 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />NC Governors Highway Safety Program <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The NC Governors Highway Safety Program has awarded the Cabarrus County Sheriff's <br />Office a federal grant in the amount of $39,244. These funds will be used to purchase two <br />motorcycles, radios and radar units which will be used to respond quickly during peak <br />times, raise public awareness and be visible at OWl/Click It or Ticket checkpoints.
