<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # <br /> <br />r::-'3 <br /> <br />Meeting Date 11/15/04 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Department of Homeland Security State Homeland Security Grant <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The Department of Homeland Security awarded Cabarrus County a State Homeland <br />Security Grant of $11,000 to create and promote a Citizen Corps Council and a <br />Community Emergency Response Team. These funds will be used by Citizen Corps <br />Councils for training and education of citizens in disaster preparedness.
