<br />RESOLUTUION <br /> <br />~~ <br />_!~!I!!tY <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />CABARRUSCOUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department offers adult <br />softball leagues and other sports programs to encourage adult residents to <br />enjoy athletic pursuits. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County employees for the first time formed a co-ed <br />softball team - the Cabarrus County Crushers - bringing together <br />employees from eight county departments. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the softball team served as a morale builder by offering employees a <br />wonderful way to foster friendships and to increase their knowledge of <br />county government by learning more about the workings of other county <br />departments. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Crushers helped spread good will by positively <br />interacting with other county residents through friendly competition. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the establishment of the softball team encouraged some employees to <br />engage in a healthier lifestyle by participating in a team sport for the first <br />time or by taking up softball again after many years off the field. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Crushers were named champions of the B-Division <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Co-Ed Softball Tournament in its <br />first year as an organized team. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners congratulates the Cabarrus County Crushers for its championship win in <br />the B-division of the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Co-Ed Softball League and <br />encourages continued participation in team sports among county employees. <br /> <br />Adopted this 15th day of November, 2004. <br /> <br />Robert M.
