<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Meeting Date 12/20/04 <br /> <br />Agenda Item # t: - 9 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />2004 NC State Board of Elections Help America Vote Act (HAVA) Title I Grant of $22,435 <br />and the county's appropriation of $23,698 - ADA compatible election sites, <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Cabarrus County received a HAVA Title I grant of $22,435 on June 23,2004 for use <br />in making election polling sites ADA compatible. There was also $23,698 available in <br />county funds for the same purpose, Because the grant was received too late in the fiscal <br />year to spend, it must be carried forward to the current fiscal year.
