<br />ManaQement Report <br />Ann Sternal presented the management report for September with the following highlights: <br /> <br />· Ann Sternal presented the board with the 2004-2005 marketing plan for the CVB. <br /> <br />· Libba Barrineau attended the AAU National Convention in Stamford, Ct. as well as the <br />German Shepherd Dog Show in Albany Oregon. <br /> <br />· The Southwide Textile Heritage Initiative will be holding a meeting here in April 2005 <br />producing approximately 500 room nights. <br /> <br />· The CVB hosted a group from Lufthansa Airlines here on a FAM trip. <br /> <br />· The CVB is continuing to work with the Charlotte CVB and the members of the local <br />organizing committee on the events being planned for the All Star challenge in 2005. <br /> <br />· Ann Sternal mentioned the advertising for Pit Pass Cabarrus is continuing to be <br />successful at increasing the number of reader responses for information. <br /> <br />John Cox requested the Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development be <br />added to the marketing plan for 2004-2005. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br />Sharon Campbell reported the grants committee met and has made the following <br />recommendations: <br /> <br />Concord Downtown Development Corp. - denied per grant guidelines. After discussion, a <br />motion to deny was made by Eddie Littlefield with a second by Doug Stafford. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Showstopper American Dance Championship - $5,000 per grant guidelines and the following <br />condition: the organizer list either (1) other hotels or (2) the toll free number ofthe Cabarrus CVB <br />for hotel assistance. After discussion, a motion to accept was made by Diane Honeycutt with a <br />second by John Cox, Motion carried. <br /> <br />North Carolina Athletic Association - denied per grant guidelines. After discussion, a motion to <br />deny this additional grant request was made by Doug Stafford with a second by Eddie Littlefield. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />C&C Racing Promotions - denied per grant guidelines. After discussion, a motion to deny was <br />made by John Cox with a second by Eddie Littlefield. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Jiu Jitsu World Cup - $3000 per grant guidelines. After discussion, a motion to approve was <br />made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by John Cox. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Roger Haas reported the facilities committee is finalizing the proposed lease with the Cabarrus <br />Regional Chamber of Commerce.
