Listed below are several of our goals with which we feel this policy will <br />accomplish, <br /> <br />. Define recyclable items <br />. Reduce the amount of trash that is collected daily and sent to our landfills <br />. Purchase more recycled -environmentally preferable products <br />. Establish reuse of potential surplus property by first offering the items to County. <br />departments, and then to Schools and 501 (c) (3) before sending them to auction <br />. Reduce employee desk garbage pickup to one day per week which will enable <br />Custodian staff more time allocated to the care and cleaning of our facilities <br />. Engage other local governments and businesses within the County to participate <br />in recycling programs and activities <br /> <br />It is our objective as employees to take care of Cabarrus County, Recycling is just one of <br />the many activities in which the County Employees are helping to improve the quality of <br />life in Cabarrus County, <br /> <br />Cc: John Day, County Manager <br />Mike Downs, Deputy County Manager <br /> <br />Finance Department <br />P.O.
