[CASARRUSCOUNTY[ <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />From: <br /> <br />Date: <br /> <br />Re: <br /> <br />Cabarms County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> Kelly Sifford, AICP <br /> <br /> March 17, 2003 <br /> <br />Weatherization and Heating Appliance Repair Replacement Program <br /> <br />With Board of Commissioner's approval, staff will be making application to the North <br />Carolina Health and Human Services Office of Economic Opportunity for Weatherization <br />(WX) and Heating Appliance Repair Replacement Program grants (HARRP). We <br />tentatively have been funded for $71,075 under WX and $18,596 under HARRP. The <br />application is due April 1, 2003. The Weatherization grant is used to install items such as <br />insulation, windows, doors, and weatherstripping. The Heating Appliance Repair <br />Replacement program is used to replace or repair existing heating and air conditioning <br />systems. We replaced several heating systems this winter under emergency conditions. <br />These programs allow many elderly and disabled persons to remain in their homes longer <br />as well as reduce their energy costs.
