o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br /> In order to receive EA, there must be a minor child residing in the home. The <br /> definition of ~e, kinship, and citizenship will be the same as in the Work <br /> First programkequirements. <br />Eligibility for~A will be based on 150% of the Federal poverty level. <br />The base peried for computing gross income is the month prior to the <br />application foi' EA, unless a change has occurred in hours, employment, or <br />pay. <br />There will be it $300.00 maximum assistance payment per family during the <br />fiscal a consequtive year beginning from when last EA pawnent was received. <br />The family apDlying for EA must have at least one employed adult member or <br />one disabled __~tult member of the household. <br />The family bu~lget must show that the family can maintain ongoing bills once <br />EA is given, tf this is not the case, EA may not be appropriate. <br />Budget counseling will be provided on each EA application. <br />Services to be~rovided through EA are as follows, when there are emergency <br />needs, and arc, directly related to obtaining or maintaining employment: Car repair4, including tires <br /> Emergenc~' housing for victims of family violence <br />· Temporar~ housing for displaced families in a crisis situation <br />· Past due r~t (must have an eviction notice) <br />· Licenses d[emed necessary for work and inability to get license will <br /> jeopardize ~mployment <br /> Utility exp~nses (must have disconnect notice) <br /> Transporta!.ion assistance when needed to relocate (distance of relocation <br /> will impaei ability to assist) <br /> Medical n~ds not covered by Medicare/Medicaid, when financially <br /> practical t(~pay for them <br /> Insurance l~remiums only when deemed an emergency to retain a job or <br /> lose health~nsurance coverage <br /> Fees only ~hen deemed necessary to retain a job <br /> Any other ~quests must have the approval of the Program Administrator <br /> and/or Director. <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />Services to low income families (under 200% of poverty) <br />Due to limited funding and numbers of families in need, Cabarms County will <br />operate a limited si_rvice program to low income families who are not recipients <br />of Work First and ~e not determined to be in an emergency situation and in need <br />of Emergency Assistance.
