d. Develop emergency notification and waming procedures to alert the <br />general public to impending or existing emergency situations. <br /> <br /> e. Receive and disseminate warning information and insure information <br />related to emergency situations is provided to emergency workers, key officials, special <br />locations and the Emergency Operations Center. <br /> <br /> g. Coordinate communications net with surrounding counties and State <br />agencies. <br /> <br /> h. Develop procedures for maintaining and restoring telephone and 911 <br />services during emergencies. Develop agreements to provide radio repair and <br />maintenance under emergency conditions. <br /> <br /> i. Provide an alternate communications capability in the event the main <br />system fails. <br /> <br /> j. Report to the Emergency Operations Center upon activation and provide <br />direction and control for communications operations. Notify all emergency services in <br />the county when the EOC is opened. <br /> <br /> k. Provide for testing and exercising of the communications, warning, and <br />alerting systems on a monthly basis. <br /> <br />7. Municipal Law Enforcement Agencies <br /> <br /> a. Maintain current internal notification/recall rosters and communications <br />systems. <br /> <br /> b. Assist in warning and notifying the local population of an impending or <br />existing emergency situation. Provide specific information on emergency situations to <br />emergency services, key officials, and special locations such as schools, hospitals, <br />nursing homes etc. <br /> <br /> c. Develop and maintain mutual aid agreements with surrounding law <br />enforcement agencies. <br /> <br /> d. Conduct law enforcement operations within jurisdiction during the <br />emergency period. Coordinate additional law enforcement support with the county <br />sheriff and other municipalities within the county, other counties, and the North Carolina <br />State Highway Patrol during response operations.
