The followinl~ communications systems can be accessed from the County <br />communication center: <br /> <br /> (1) Sheriff's 12}epartment 800 MHz Radio System <br /> <br /> (2) County Fi~e Protection Network <br /> <br />(3) General S~rvices <br />(4) EMS <br /> <br />(5) The Local~Area Police Network <br /> <br />(6) Other Ca~m'us County government agencies <br /> <br /> 3. Other Communica ~ions Systems. <br /> <br />a. The EOC will ~Perate on the State EM 2000 information management system. <br />This computer program p~'~vides a series to functional integrated databases to assist <br />emergency response operatic ns. The link to the State EOC provides a rapid and accurate <br />means to pass situation repor~_~ and request/track resource requests. The County Emergency <br />Management Division will e~tablish, operate, and maintain the EM 2000 workstation at the <br />EOC. ~ <br /> <br /> b. Amateur radi~operators may provide assistance if the primary county radios <br />network fail or are overtask[d. These civilian operators provide information and relay <br />messages fi.om their homes, *hicles or other facilities. Amateur radio links are generally not <br />operated from the Commu~cations Center. However, there is a set of amateur radio <br />equipment located in the C ~tmunications Center that these volunteers may be asked to <br />operate in an emergency sit~. tion. <br /> <br />IV. DIRECTION AND CI~.NTROL <br /> A. The Communicatio~ Lieutenant will notify the Cabarrus County Emergency <br />Management Coordinator w[en a major emergency situation has occurred or is imminent. <br />The Emergency Managemen~ Coordinator will then notify County government officials. If <br />this occurs after normal bus,ess hours, the EM Coordinator will use the Alert Roster to <br />make contact with key leaders. <br /> <br /> B. The Sheriff, in consliltation with the Emergency Management Coordinator, will <br />provide assistance in provid~g the communications system configuration that will permit <br /> <br />EOP/ANNEX B <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />December 2002 <br /> <br /> <br />
