Memo

From:

Date:

Re:

Rodger H. Lentz, AICP, Planning and Zoning Manager, Cabarrus County Planning Services
Tyrel G. Moore, Chair, Town of Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board

O5/07/O3

Reappointment of Loyd Quay as ETJ member, Harrisburg Planning and
Zoning Board

I request that you place the following item on the May 19, 2003 Agenda of the
Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Meeting. We wish to recommend tl~,
reappointment of Lloyd Quay as the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Representative to the~'
Town of Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board. We realize that as of June, 2003
Lloyd will have served two terms in that capacity. While we respect the two-term limit
set by the County, his reappointment would not be inconsistent with the Town of
Harrisburg's Planning and Zoning Board's policy which has no term limits. Lloyd
Quay is a valued Planning and Zoning Board Member who is respected as a
dedicated public servant. He carries out his duties with fairness, informed insights,
and an unusual sense of commitment.

· Page 1
