RESOLUTIO~ PASSED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE :~QOUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA The following resolution wa.ql~offered by and seconded by. and upon being put to a vote was ~:arried on the ~ day of~, : THAT WHEREAS, ~t is recognized that the proper movement of travel within and through the Cabarrus-Rowan urbani~d area is highly desirable element of a comprehensive plan for the orderly growth and developn~ nt of the area, and; WHEREAS, there ar~ a number of governmental jurisdictions within the Cabarrus-Rowan urbanized area which have b~ en authorized with implementation and regulatory responsibilities for transportation by North Carol na General Statutes, and; WHEREAS, it is des' able that coordinated, comprehensive and cooperative transportation planning processes be mail ained in the Cabarrus-Rowan urbanized area to insure that the transportation system is m~ed on an efficient and economical basis commensurate with the public health, safety and welf~tre, and; WHEREAS, a revise~ Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Concord,'City of Kannapolis, Town of Ch ha Grove, Town of Landis, City of Salisbury, Town of Harrisburg, Town of Mount Pleasant, Tc tn of Granite Quarry, Town of Spencer, Town of Rockwell, Town of Cleveland, County of Row n, County of Cabarms, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation has been prep 'ed that sets forth the responsibilities and working arrangements for maintaining a continuing, coniprehensive and cooperative transportation planning process, and; NOW, THEREFOR.I~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF CABARI~US, NORTH CAROLINA: That the Memorandur~t of Understanding between the City of Concord, City of Kannapolis, Town of China Grove, Tow~ of Landis, City of Salisbury, Town of Harrisburg, Town of Mount Pleasant, Town of Granite ~arry, Town of Spencer, Town of Rockwell, Town of Cleveland, County of Rowan and the No]th Carolina Department of Transportation, Agreement Number 3-19- 03, be approved and that _~he Chair and County Clerk are hereby directed to execute the Memorandum of Understand'.t~g.
