A_fterschool Program hours will be Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. 8:15 a.m. and 2:15 <br /> p.m. until 6 p.m. Full Day hours will be 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Elite Kids will be <br /> accepting at least 40 afterschool children during the school year and has a capacity of 75 <br /> school age children. The program is open to any child regardless of race, color, national <br /> origin, sex, age, or disability. <br /> <br /> Each day children will enjoy enrichment activities where they will be provided <br />with "hands-on" learning including science, self-esteem, diversity, dramatic arts, <br />photography and foods and nutrition. Children will learn many life skills during <br />afterschool time. By having choice centers, enrichment activities, outdoor play time, <br />field trips, and cooperative games, children will learn teamwork, problem solving, <br />cooperation, sharing, communication, planning and organizing skills, and self- <br />motivational skills. 4-H clubs will also be a major part of their program. Elite afterschool <br />will be working with children that are limited resource, ethnically diverse, and have <br />special needs. Grant funds will serve at least 25 different families. <br /> <br /> Collaboration from many different agencies will be beneficial during this grant. <br />Elite will work with the Division of Child Development for consultations with Licensing <br />Consultant. Child Care t(esources will offer assistance in staff training as well as parent <br />workshops and use of resource library for curriculum booklets. The NC Cooperative <br />Extension Service will be available to assist with the grant by offering stafftraining, <br />activities for,he children, consultations, grant management and 4-H resource library. <br /> <br /> & <br /> <br />The following staff members are in place: <br /> <br /> Dee Almond, Elite Child Development Center Director, BSAC training, will <br />complete her associates degre~ in Early Childhood, May 2003, 4 years experience. <br /> <br />E-tO <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
