August 18, 2003 <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />Page 227 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, intergovernmental cooperation, on a regional basis, is essential to any <br />effort to protect and preserve the natural environment; and <br /> <br />WHER~JkS, the protection and preservation of natural resources within Cabarrus <br />County and the greater region are essential to the general health, safety, and <br />welfare of community and regional ~esidents; and <br /> <br />WHERe, improper management of natural resources is contrary to the ideals of <br />a healthy, economically vital and aesthetically pleasing community and region; <br /> <br />NOW T~EP~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Cabarrus adopts this resolution <br />in support of SEQL: Sustainable Environment for Quality of Life; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Cabarrus through its comprehensive and <br />all other planning efforts, will seek to implement sound environmental planning <br />principles in a manner that furthers the efforts of SEQL to the benefit of the <br />County and regional citizens. <br /> <br />Adopted this 18=~ day of August, 2003. <br /> <br />/S/ Robert M.
