August 18, 2003 DRAFT Page 227 WHEREAS, intergovernmental cooperation, on a regional basis, is essential to any effort to protect and preserve the natural environment; and WHER~JkS, the protection and preservation of natural resources within Cabarrus County and the greater region are essential to the general health, safety, and welfare of community and regional ~esidents; and WHERe, improper management of natural resources is contrary to the ideals of a healthy, economically vital and aesthetically pleasing community and region; NOW T~EP~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Cabarrus adopts this resolution in support of SEQL: Sustainable Environment for Quality of Life; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Cabarrus through its comprehensive and all other planning efforts, will seek to implement sound environmental planning principles in a manner that furthers the efforts of SEQL to the benefit of the County and regional citizens.
