CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />Number in Household 30%ofMedian 50%ofMe~an <br /> (ve~ low- income) (low income) <br />1 $13,450 $22,450 <br />2 $15,400 $25,650 <br />3 $17,300 $28,850 <br />4 $19,250 $32,050 <br />5 $20,750 $34,600 <br />6 $22,300 $37,200 <br />7 $23,850 $39,750 <br />8 $25,400 $42,300 <br /> <br />Selection of applicants: The County has devised the following priority system to rank <br />the eligible applicants, determine which of them will be selected for assistance and in <br />what order~ <br /> <br />1) First priority will be given to individuals who are elderly (62 and over), disabled, <br /> single parent households, large families (over five members), and homes in which <br /> children under age six with elevated blood lead levels (elevated blood lead level <br /> between 10Mg/dl and 20Mg/dl) reside <br />2) Priority will also be given to individuals and families with less than 30% of the <br /> median income, then individuals and families with less than 50% of the median <br /> income will be considered. <br />3) Other priorities will be given to individuals and families who were referred by <br /> Cabarrus County Department of Social Services or Department of Aging as these <br /> applicants have normally exhausted all other possible resources. <br /> <br />Under NCHFA Program Guidelines, .a minimum of 70% of households assisted must <br />have incomes which are less than 30% of Cabarrus County median income for the <br />household size, and no household with an income exceeding 50% of the area median <br />income will be eligible. This guideline will be adhered to strictly and will be taken into <br />consideration when selecting those households to be assisted under the URP04. <br /> <br />Non-Discrimination Statement: <br /> <br />Recipients of assistance under the URP04 will be chosen by the above criteria without <br />regard to race, creed, sex, color or national origin. <br /> <br />The definitions of special needs' populations under URP04 are: <br /> <br />Elderly: An individual aged 62 or older. <br />Disabled: A person who has a physical, mental or developmental disability that <br />greatly limits one or more major life activities, has a record of such impairment, or is <br />regarded as having such impairment. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
