Cabarrus County <br />Jail and Courthouse <br />Phase I Scope of Services <br />Exhibit A <br /> <br />Jail Facility Program <br /> 10/13/2003 <br /> <br />The Jail Facility Program will be developed to identify and quantify spaces needed for the <br />proposed facility. The program will identify applicable detention facility standards and code <br />requirements. The majority of the work will be performed working with representatives of the <br />Sheriff's Department (Program Team) involving extensive detailed discussion in meetings held <br />over several weeks. The work prepared under the Cabarrus County Jail Facilities Study, <br />completed in 2002, will serve as the foundation and basis for proceeding w~th this phase of the <br />work. The following tasks are included as part of this effort: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Facility Program Development <br />a) Develop overall square footage and parking forecast for 50-year time horizon utilizing <br /> information developed under the Cabarrus County Jail Facilities Study. <br />b) Conduct Mission Statement Workshop with the Program Team <br /> i) Review programming process <br /> ii) Review schedule of meetings <br /> iii)Review operational and design objectives <br />c) Conduct meetings with the Program Team and other Jail Staff to address functional <br /> requirements of specific components: <br /> i) Public Lobby <br /> ii) Administration <br /> iii) Staff Support Services <br /> iv) Intake & Release <br /> v) Classification <br /> vi) Records <br /> vii) Transportation <br /> viii) Magistrate <br /> ix) Inmate Housing-General Population <br /> x) Initial Housing <br /> xi) Special Management Housing <br /> xii) Trusty Housing <br /> xiii) Program Services <br /> xiv) Visitation <br /> xv) Commissary <br /> xvi) Medical <br /> xvii)Food Service <br /> xviii) Laundry <br /> xix) Maintenance <br /> xx) Warehouse <br />d) Conduct meetings with Sheriff's personnel to address functional requirements of various <br /> departments: <br /> i) Administration <br /> ii) Communications <br /> iii)Patrol <br /> iv) Investigations <br /> v) Civil Process <br /> vi) Programs & Schools <br /> vii)SupportJother <br />e) Develop Operational Program for each component to include: <br /> i) Purpose <br /> ii) Hours of operation <br /> iii)Users-volume & circulation <br /> <br />Ware Bonsall Architects <br /> <br /> <br />
