Cabarrus County Jail and Courthouse Phase I Scope of Services Exhibit A Jail Facility Program 10/13/2003 The Jail Facility Program will be developed to identify and quantify spaces needed for the proposed facility. The program will identify applicable detention facility standards and code requirements. The majority of the work will be performed working with representatives of the Sheriff's Department (Program Team) involving extensive detailed discussion in meetings held over several weeks. The work prepared under the Cabarrus County Jail Facilities Study, completed in 2002, will serve as the foundation and basis for proceeding w~th this phase of the work. The following tasks are included as part of this effort: 1) Facility Program Development a) Develop overall square footage and parking forecast for 50-year time horizon utilizing information developed under the Cabarrus County Jail Facilities Study. b) Conduct Mission Statement Workshop with the Program Team i) Review programming process ii) Review schedule of meetings iii)Review operational and design objectives c) Conduct meetings with the Program Team and other Jail Staff to address functional requirements of specific components: i) Public Lobby ii) Administration iii) Staff Support Services iv) Intake & Release v) Classification vi) Records vii) Transportation viii) Magistrate ix) Inmate Housing-General Population x) Initial Housing xi) Special Management Housing xii) Trusty Housing xiii) Program Services xiv) Visitation xv) Commissary xvi) Medical xvii)Food Service xviii) Laundry xix) Maintenance xx) Warehouse d) Conduct meetings with Sheriff's personnel to address functional requirements of various departments: i) Administration ii) Communications iii)Patrol iv) Investigations v) Civil Process vi) Programs & Schools vii)SupportJother e) Develop Operational Program for each component to include: i) Purpose ii) Hours of operation iii)Users-volume & circulation Ware Bonsall Architects
