~PON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanmmously carried, the Board moved to come out of the Closed Sessmon and <br />return to open sessmon <br /> <br /> No actmon was reported from the Closed Sessmon <br /> <br />General Discussion - Economic Development <br /> <br /> Mr Day reported on hms attendance at the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of <br />Commerce retreat in Asheville durmng the weekend. One of the major topics of <br />discussmon was on economic development and how to provmde a more coordmnated and <br />focused effort on econommc development mn the communmty. One suggestion was for <br />the Chamber of Commerce to convene a meeting and invmte all stakeholders to have <br />discussions as to how to create a more comprehensive economic development program <br />in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> There was discussion about the local economic development program and the <br />possmbility of the County Commissioners and the Economic Development Corporation <br />Board of Directors holding a joint meeting to further dmscuss the matter. <br /> <br />(M) RECESS OF THE MEETING <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Freeman <br />recessed the meeting at 11:15 p.m. untml 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, <br />2003, at the Cabarrus County Education Center, 4401 Old Airport Road, Concord, <br />North Carolina <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
