Grist, Director <br /> Cabarrus County Board of Elections <br /> <br />Filing, if approved by the Justice Department, for the 2002 Candidates for Cabarrus <br />County Sheriff and County Commissioners begins on February 18, 2002 at 12 o'clock <br />noon and closes March 1, 2002 at 12 o'clock noon.. This office will need directions in <br />establishing filing fees for the above offices. <br /> <br />Pursuant to G.S. 16%107.-At the time of filing a Notice of Candidacy for nomination for <br />any legislative or county office each candidate for such office shall pay to the County <br />Board of Elections of the county of their residence a filing fee of one percent of the <br />annual salary of such office: <br />Provided, that all candidates for nomination for any county office operated on a fee basis <br />shall pay to the county board of elections a flat filing fee as follows: county <br />commissioners, ten dollars ($10.00); county board of education, five dollars ($5.00); <br />sheriff, and register of deeds, forty dollars ($40.00), plus one per cent (1%) of the income <br />of the office above four thousand dollars ($4,000.00); and any other county office on a fee <br />basis, twenty dollars ($20.00), plus one per cent (1%) of the income of the office above <br />two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).
