<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Suggs, seconded by Chairman Freeman and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mary Roller to the Committee for the
<br />National Day of Prayer Observance.
<br />
<br /> This completed the appointments to the five-member committee.

<br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Co~ission
<br />
<br /> The terms of appointment for Gina H. Lowery (Township 5/6/7/8) and Connie
<br />Goodman (Township 1/2/3) on the Parks and Recreation Co~m~ission end on January
<br />31, 2002. Ms. Lowery had served two full terms or six consecutive years and Ms.
<br />Goodman had served one term. In addition, the Township 9/10 position was vacant
<br />due to the resignation of Kent Honeycutt in September 2001. The Parks and
<br />Recreation Commission's nominating committee submitted the following
<br />recommendations for those three seats:

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Suggs and

<br />appointed Terry O. Jones (Township S/6/7/8) and John F. Parka? (Township 9/10)
<br />to the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission for terms of three years
<br />~nding January 31, 2005.

<br />Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
<br />
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Chairman Freeman and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Robert A. Palo, Jr. (Person Under Age
<br />of 21) and Richard Roush (At-Large) to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
<br />(JCPC) as recommended by the JCPC. Their terms of appointment will end on June
<br />30, 2003.

<br /> Commissioner Privette suggested the appointment of Pastor Jeff Black to
<br />fill the 'Member of Faith Community" position. Commissioner Fennel will contact
<br />Pastor Black regarding his interest in membership on the JCPC.
