660 Concord Parkway North
PO Box 388
Concord, NC 28026. 0388

(7049 786-6195 Ext. 130
(704) 788-1317 Fax

Facilities & Operations Department
DOn Clickner CDF, Dieector

March 27, 2002

Memo to:

From:

Subject:

Board of EdUcation ~
Mr. Don Clickner, Director of Facilities

Edwards Street Property (Logan Community)

Mr. William Niblock who represents Habitat for Humanity has requested that the Board of
Education sell to them the vacant lot located on Edwards Street. The location of this lot is
circled on the County GIS parcel information map, which is attached.

At the present time, I see no future use for the property by.the school system. Fralikly, we
were not aware that we owned it until the City of Concord cited us for not maintaining the
height of the grass on the property last year.

Habitat for Humanity has built a home on the land adjacent to this property and would'
like t° build another home on the property they are requesting. The tax value of this parcel
is $6,980-00. Mr. Niblock has indicated that Habitat would pay for minimal attorney fees
as necessary.

If you have, any questions, please call me. Thank you.
