Center" on the Concession/First Aid facility and provide routine maintenance, <br />upkeep, and general cleaning of First Aid Center <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Marketing Partnership <br />Agreement between Cabarrus County, NorthEast Medical Center and Cabarrus <br />Soccer Association for a term of one year and automatic renewal for one-year <br />terms, up to a maximum of ten years. Further, the Board authorized the <br />Chairman to execute the Agreement on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Resolution to Name the Southern .Portion of the Weetside B~ass as George W. <br />Liles Parkway <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION Of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br /> Resolution NO. 2002-07 <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation is <br />constructing a thoroughfare traversing through the City of Concord and <br />Cabarrus County currently known as the Westside Bypass; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has requested <br />that the County Commissioners and Concord City Council consider naming this <br />portion of roadway in order for a sign to be placed on Interstate 85 upon the <br />completion of the road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, George W. Liles has served our community unselfishly for many <br />years in numerous capacities, including eight years as the Mayor of the City <br />of Concord; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, throughout his years of service, Dr. Liles has worked <br />constantly for the betterment of our community and has demonstrated his love <br />for our citizens by being instrumental in establishing the Community Free <br />Clinic that provides free medical care for those Cabarrus County residents <br />who are unable to afford proper medical assistance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Concord City Council unanimously approved a resolution on <br />May 29, 2001, requesting that the portion of the Westside. Bypass from 1-85 to <br />NC 49 be named "George W. Liles Parkway" in recognition of Mayor Liles's <br />efforts and accomplishments on behalf of the citizens of this community. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners concurs with =he naming of that portion of the Westside Bypass <br />that passes through the Concord municipal limits and Cabarrus County (I-85 to <br />NC 49), including that section of the project from NC 49 to approximately the <br />mid-point of Stough Road that is still 'located within the county, as 'George <br />W. hiles Parkway." <br /> <br /> Adopted this the 18ch day of March 2002. <br /> <br /> {s/ Robert M. Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />~par~ment of A~in~ - FY 2002 Contracts for the Wea~herization Assistance <br />Program and the Heating, Air, Repair and Replacement Pro,ram and Related <br />Budget Amendment <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the FY 2002 contract (CFDA <br />#81.042) for the Weatherization Assistance Program and the Heating, Air <br />Conditioning Repair or Replacement Program between the Cabarrus County <br />Department of Aging and the Salisbury-Rowan Community Service Council; and <br />authorized the Chairman to execute.the contract on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br />The total reimbursement from the Council to the Contractor (Department of <br />Aging) for the provision of services in the Contract shall not exceed <br />$83,722.00.
