Bank St. Telephone (704) 633-6633 Fax (704) 633-7814 Mr. Robert Freeman Chairman PO Box 707 Cabarrus County Commissioners Concord, North Carolina 28026 Dear Mr. Freeman: This is to inform you and the County Commissioners that Mr. Mike Murphy is no longer a member of the Salisbury Rowan Community Service Council, Inc. Board of Directors. Mr. Murphy worked for the Department of Aging and also served on the Board and this was a conflict of interest The SRCSC is a community action agency, we have programs in five counties and we also sub-contract with the Cabarrus County Department of Aging for Weatherization. Under this umbrella we have CSBG, Head Start and Early Head Start, Work to Welfare and WorkfOrce Investment Act, day care, extended daycare and Weatherization. The County Commissions at one time petition to have two members serve on our Board of Directors. Ms. Carolyn Carpenter replaced Ms. Betty Jean Prewitt and there is still a position open. However, you do not have to replace Mr. Murphy, but the Board needs to know that that is your pleasure in writing. We do have two people from Cabarms County presently serving on the Board of Directors. Mrs. Carpenter is one those person and Mr. Robert Moore is the other. Mr. Moore is representing the faith-based community, but he can also serve as the county's representative, if you so choose, again, we will need to have something in writing requesting that he is also representing the county commissioners.
