DRAFT FOR REVIEW <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CGIA's primary focus for 'NO FEE' access to geospatial data is the Internet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to fulfill the goals for a statewide corporate geographic database and to serve the <br />growing geospatial data user community in North Carolina with better maps and data, effective data sharing <br />partnerships must be in place; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, the UNDERSIGNED, <br /> <br />AGREE that geospatial data sharing between CABARRUS COUNTY, NC and CGIA is an important <br />business practice that furthers shared agency goals for effective use of public information; and <br /> <br />AGREE to identify a primary point of contact for data sharing in ATTACHMENT; and <br /> <br />AGREE to identify sharable data layers, associated documentation (metadata), transfer formats, transfer <br />media, schedules for transfer, and disclaimers (if any) in ATTACHMENT; and <br /> <br />AGREE to waive agency fees, if any, for data sharing between the agencies; and <br /> <br />AGREE that data provided by CGIA under this agreement may be further redistributed with applicable <br />metadata by Cabarms County WITHOUT FEES in the public domain and without restriction, unless <br />otherwise noted herein and/or unless otherwise subject to public laws governing authorities; and <br /> <br />AGREE that data provided by Cabarms County under this agreement will be obtained by CGIA on a case <br />by case basis with a written request and with redistribution conditions* (*final planimetrics, including all <br />vector based data, may'be further redistributed with applicable metadata by CGIA WITHOUT FEES in the public <br />domain; orthophotography will be resampled by CGIA to one meter pixel and redistributed in public domain; users <br />will be directed to the county for acquisition of the original hi-resolution orthophotography); and <br /> <br />CGIA further AGREES to develop Interact capabilities as the primary mechanism for NO FEE access to <br />the corporate geographic database, including community data shared under this agreement; and <br /> <br />CGIA further AGREES to provide training and assistance, if requested and when resources are available, <br />to CABARRUS COUNTY, NC in the area of metadata creation and dissemination as part of the North <br />Carolina Geographic Data Clearinghouse. <br /> <br />This agreement is effective upon signature by the authorities, and is valid until rescinded.
