Chasity Stoker Selected as Local BPW <br /> Young Careerist of the Year <br /> <br /> Chasity Stoker, of the Cabarrus County Department of Aging, <br />has been selected as the local 2002 Young Careerist for the <br />Con¢ord-Cabarrus Business & Professional Women's Organization. <br /> Stoker graduated from Pfeiffer University in 1999 and earned a <br />Bachelor's Degree in the area of Human Services with a <br />concentration in Aging. She is currently Aging Programs Coordinator <br />for the Department of Aging, where she has been employed for <br />approximately three years. Her responsibilities include coordinating <br />the Cabarrus Aging'Network, the department's Information & <br />Assistance Program, and the In-Home Services (Respite) Program. <br />She supervises one of Aging's newest services, the Caregiver <br />Support Program and produces the department's local television <br />program, Forever Young. <br /> The Business and Professional Women (BPW) is a national <br />organization that provides networking opportunities, resources, <br />educational programs and visibility for its members. The purpose of <br />the organization's Young Careerist Program is to provide recognition <br />opportunities for young women, publicize the organization's purpose <br />and develop future leaders. The Young Careerist Program recognizes <br />the accomplishments of successful women and introduces them to <br />the mission and vision of Business and Professional Women (BPW). <br /> YoUng Careerists benefit from networking opportunities, <br />opportunities for personal and professional development, <br />opportunities to learn about issues of concern to working women, <br />educational programs and visibility. Young Careerist candidates are <br />judged in the following areas: written and biographical information, <br />personal interview, group interaction and prepared speeches on <br />specific topics. <br /> As the local Young Careerist winner, Stoker is also <br />representing the local Business and Professional Women (BPW) by <br />attending the organization's district event this year in Raleigh, N.C. <br />We would like to congratulate Chasity and wish her the best of luck in <br />representing Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> <br />
