RETIREMENT RECOGNITION

Judy Fisher
11/01/1972 to 5/31/2002

Judy Fisher retired with over 29 years of service to Cabarrus County on May 31, 2002.
Her unfailing devotion to her responsibilities and a total commitment to excellence in public
service distinguished her career at the Department of Social Services.

At the time of her retirement, Mrs. Fisher had responsibility for the Department's records
management system. This system maintains the more than 63,000 files established by the
Department over the years.

Mrs. Fisher began her service with DSS as an Income Maintenance Caseworker in the
Family and Children's service area in 1972. From the outset, she demonstrated versatile skills
and abilities. She was adept in both interviewing clients to assist in applications for assistance
and in working with clients to assure that they were able to continue to receive needed services.
In 1996 she moved to the Administration Division where her background and skills were
invaluable in assuring that clients were assisted in the most efficient manner possible. She
offered a vast knowledge of agency services and was instrumental in mentoring new staff in the
Administration Division.

Mrs. Fisher has made herself an integral part of the Department of Social Services and
valuable resource to the staff and clients served. She has been a dedicated employee striving
to meets high expectations that she has set for herself. Ms. Fisher has gone above and
beyond the expectations of an employee to be there when staff needed support or assistance.

Of all the qualities for which Mrs. Fisher will be remembered, it is her friendliness which
we will remember most.

It has been a privilege to serve with Mrs. Fisher. I know she has earned the highest
respect of everyone here in the Department of Social Services, in Cabarrus County
government, and throughout the community.

Mrs. Fisher has touched us all and we will miss her as she leaves to pursue other
challenges and make her impact in other arenas.
