Bonds, Clerk to. the Board <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />Date: June 17, 2002 <br /> <br /> The Maintenance and Repair Agreement is on file in the Office of the <br />County Manager. <br /> <br />Resolution to Continue to Provide Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities <br />and Substance Abuse Services in Cabarrus County ~hrou~h Piedmont Area Mental <br />Health <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution: <br /> <br /> Resolution NO. 2002-22 <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and <br />Substance Abuse Authority was established by the Boards of Commissioners of <br />Cabarrus, Stanly and Union Counties in 1974; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 1997 Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental <br />Disabilities and substance Abuse Authority was 'expanded to include Rowan <br />County by action of the Board of Commissioners in Cabarrus, Rowan, Stanly and <br />Union Counties; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and <br />Substance Abuse Authority continues to well serve the citizens of Cabarrus <br />County; an~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County believes that <br />mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse services should <br />continue to be provided for the citizens of Cabarrus County through Piedmont <br />Area Mental Health, DevelopmentalDisabilities and Substance Abuse Authority; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to amendments of North Carolina .General' Statutes <br />Chapter 122C set forth in"2001' Session Laws, Chapter 437, it is incumbent <br />upon the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County to advise the North <br />Carolina Secretary of Health and Human Services that it is the intent of the <br />Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County to continue to provide mental <br />health, developmental disabilities' and substance abuse services through <br />Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse <br />Authority. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br />CABA!~RUS COUNTY AS FOLLOWS~ <br /> <br />1. It is the intent of the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County to <br /> continue to provide mental health, developmental disabilities and <br /> substance abuse services through Piedmont Area Mental Health, <br /> Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Authority. <br />2. The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners shall send a letter to the <br /> North Carolina Secretary of Health and Human Services stating this <br /> intent. <br /> <br />This the 17~h day of June, 2002. <br /> <br /> /s/ Robert M.
