Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Lease Agreement between Cabarrus County and City of Kannapolis for <br />Orphanage Road Property (North Cabarrus Park). <br /> <br /> On October 19, 1998, Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners and the City of <br />Kannapolis Council entered into a park agreement to provide a public park for the <br />citizens. The City of Kannapolis is the owner of a 45.037-acre tract on the south side of <br />Orphanage Road, Kannapolis which is the site of the newly opened North Cabarrus <br />Park. The 1998 agreement states that Cabarrus County shall lease this property from <br />the City of Kannapolis for a period of twenty years for park development and <br />recreational purposes. <br /> <br /> Attached is the lease agreement between City of Kannapolis and Cabarrus <br />County for the County use of the 45 acres.
