Cabarrus County and =o provide solid waste disposal services for the City of <br />Kannapolis, the Towns of Mt. Pleasant and Harrisburg and the unincorporated <br />areas of Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the conditions of the franchise agreement have been changed by <br />mutual consent to include the following: <br /> <br />1. BFI will waive tip fees charged to Cabarrus CoUnty on municipal solid <br /> waste collected at County-operated convenience center(s) delivered by <br /> the County to the BFI landfill at Lowes Motor Speedway. <br /> <br />2. Rental fees will be waived on BFI-owned containers used for municipal <br /> solid waste located at the Cabarrus County landfill. <br /> <br />$. BFI will place containers for the collection of cardboard at the <br /> Cabarrus County Human Services Center (1303 S. Cannon Blvd., <br /> Kannapolis) and at the County recycling center located near Angelo's <br /> Fish House (1634 Trinity Church Rd., Concord) free of charge. <br /> Cardboard will be collected at those sites by BFI and will be <br /> transported to a recycling center free of charge. <br /> <br />4. BFI will provide curbside recycling collection for a fee (to be <br /> determined at a later date) in residential subdivisions in the <br /> unincorporated areas of the county upon request. Fees will be paid by <br /> subscribers. <br /> <br />5. BFI will provide recycling collection at County-owned facilities free <br /> of charge; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the franchise agreement expires January 1, 2003 and may be <br />renewed for one successive period of five years. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the <br />County of Cabarrus that the Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Franchise <br />Agreement with BFI Waste Services of North America, Inc. is renewed for five <br />years, including the change in conditions herein described, from January 1, <br />2003 through December 31, 2007. <br /> <br />Adopted this the 19~h day of August, 2002. <br /> <br />ATTBST: <br />/s/ Frankie F. Freeman, Chairman <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the ~Licensed User Agreement" <br />between Ticketmaster L.L.C., and Cabarrus County for the sale of tickets for <br />events at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center at the Expo Park. Further, <br />the Board authorized execution of the Agreement. <br /> <br />The summary of TicketMaster charges as outlined in the agreements was as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Ticket Price Gross <br />0.00 - 9.99 $2.75 <br />$10.00 - 19.99 $2.50 <br />$20.00 - 29.99 $4.00 <br />$30.00 - 39.99 $5.25 <br />$40.00 - 49.99 $5.25 <br />$50.00 - 69.99 $6.25 <br />$70.00 - Up $6.75, <br />*Estimated <br /> <br />Revenue Ticket Ctr. Share Phone <br />$0 $ 0 <br />$0.75 $1.00 <br />$1.00 $1.25 <br />$1.25 $1.S0 <br />$1.25 SS.SO <br /> <br />TicketMaster charges $.10 per ticket sold by the box office. <br />The credit card charge is 3 percent through TicketMaster. <br />TicketMaster will pay for all associated telephone lines and Internet <br /> charges. <br />TicketMaster will pay a $2,500.00 marketihg allowance on ticket sales between <br /> 10,001 - 19,999 and an additional $2,500.00 for ticket sales of 20,000 <br /> and above. <br /> <br /> <br />
