'APPENDIX A PROCEDURES FOR APPROVING INDUSTRIAL CONNECTIONS TO THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM (1) Once the industry has contacted the jurisdiction for a tie-in connection to discharge non-domestic wastewater into the sanitary sewer system, the jurisdiction should review the industry's request and determine whether they approve the wastewater discharge, discharge location, sampling location, connection to sanitary sewer system, etc. The Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) should be informed in writing of the jurisdiction's decision, questions and/or concerns. (2) After receiving approval from the jurisdiction, the industry should be instructed by the jurisdiction to submit a completed Industrial User Wastewater Survey and Permit Application to WSACC for review. If the jurisdiction does not have a copy of the application, they should instruct the industry to contact WSACC's Pretreatment staff at 788-4164, ext. 12. (3) WSACC will review the application and determine whether the wastewater can be. accepted into the Rocky River Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant or Muddy Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. Upon this determination, WSACC will submit a letter to the industry of the decision, with a copy forwarded to the jurisdiction. For connections denied, the industry will be allowed to appeal the decision or request a hearing in accordance with Section 4.2(H) of WSACC's Sewer Use Ordinance. (4) Once the 'proposed connection has been properly approved by both WSACC and the jurisdiction, WSACC will determine whether the industry should be permitted and/or included in the local pretreatment program. (5) WSACC will notify the industry of the final determination and a copy of all correspondence will be sent to the jurisdiction, in accordance with the Pretreatment Agreement. Note: These same procedures should be followed for additional connections to the sanitary sewer system from existing industries. Updated: 6/18/02
