The purposes for which the Board voted =o go into Closed Session <br /> were as follows= (K-l) NCGS 143-318.11(a) (1) Prevent the disclosure of <br /> information =hat is privileged or confidential pursuant to NCGS 143- <br /> 318.10(e)(Minutes/General Accounts of Closed Sessions)~ {K-2) NCGS 143- <br /> $18.11(a) (3) - Consul= with the County Attorney concerning threatened or <br /> pending litigation; (K-4) NCGS 143-318.11(a)(5) - Consider the acquisition of <br /> real property in the vicinity of Lake Howell; and (K-S) NCGS 145-318.11(a) (6) <br /> - Discuss a personnel matter. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner ~rivette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board voted to come out of the Closed Session. <br /> <br /> Approval end Sealing of Closed Session Minutes <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Prive==e <br />snd unanimously carried, the Board approved and sealed the minutes/general <br />accounts of Closed Sessions held on August 20, October 12, November S, <br />'November 19, December 3, December 17, 2001; and on January 3, January 14, <br />January 28, February 18, March 11, March 18, May 13, May 20, June 17, June 24 <br />and July 22, 2002; and delegated authority =o the County Manager and/or <br />County Attorney to unseal the minutes/general accounts of =he Closed Sessions <br />as appropriate, pursuant to North Carolina General SCa=ute 143-318.10(e). <br /> <br /> (K-S) Closed Session - Personnel <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissionek Privette <br /> and unanimously carried, =he Board moved to go into Closed Session to discuss <br /> a personnel mat=er as authorized by North Carolina General Statute 143- <br /> 318.11(a) (6) . <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board moved to end the Closed Session. <br /> <br /> Coun=~ Manager Performance Increase <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br /> and unanimously carried, =he Board moved =o give =he County Manager a <br /> performance increase of two percent (2%) and increased his annual automobile <br /> allowance to $8,000.00 effective June 1, 2002. <br /> <br />(L) ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Freeman adjourned the meeting at 10:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Clerk =o =he Board <br /> <br /> <br />
