Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Matching Incentive Grant Recommendations by the <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> <br /> On August 15, 2002, the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission heard <br />formal presentations from the ten non-profit community groups requesting Cabarrus <br />County Matching Incentive Grant funds. The total requested from these ten community <br />groups is $!02,298.00. The total approved funds by the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners were $50,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Budget. <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission's Property Committee met <br />and recommended $50,000 in Cabarrus County Matching Incentive Grant funds toward <br />seven projects. The Property Committee utilized the approved Cabarrus County Board <br />of Commissioners Grant "Project Priority Scoring System": <br /> <br />a) Provides new active recreational sports facilities <br /> (baseball/softball/soccer/football athletic fields, tennis/basketball courts) <br />b) Provides new passive opportunities (picnicking, trailS, playgrounds, bike paths, <br /> gardens, etc.) <br />c) Provides support facilities for active recreational sports facilities <br /> (restrooms/concessions/water facilities/dugouts/press buildings) <br />d) Provides support facilities (parking lots, roadways, walkways, landscaping, etc.) <br /> <br /> Parks and Recreation Department <br />65 Church Street SE · P.O.
