David Anthony Overcash <br /> <br /> Sgt. "Tony" Overcash began his career with the Cabarrus County Sheriff's <br />Office on October 18, 1973. <br /> <br /> He is a 1970 graduate from Northwest Cabarrus High School and completed <br />Basic Law Enforcement Training in 1973 from Davidson Community College. He <br />also completed Detention Officers School in 1975, Chemical Operators School in <br />1977 and numerous recertifications, Supervision in Law Enforcement in 1987 and <br />DCI Terminal Certification in 1995. Tony was promoted to Sgt. on July 3, 1987. <br /> <br /> Tony has a daughter Laura who is employed by Northeast Medical Center as <br />a RN in the ER and a son Drew who is a 5th grader at Winecoff Elementary. <br /> <br /> After retirement, Tony plans to build a new house and get married to Sylvia <br />Morris in the near future. Sylvia teaches school in Lincoln Co and has a son <br />Sabastian. He also plans to spend time with his family and in the mountains at his <br />cabin. He will continue as an Auxiliary officer. <br /> <br /> <br />
