(E-11) Change Order No. i to the Contract with Jones Brothers for Old Air~ort <br /> <br />Road Revisions <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved Change Order No. I ($1,225.00) to <br />the contract with Jones Brothers for the Old Airport Road revisions. <br />Additional bollards will be placed at the Highway 49 entrance to the Expo <br />Park as required by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />(B-12) Change Orders and Additional Items Related to the Expo Construction <br />Process <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Change Orders to <br />the contract with Matthews Construction Company for the Arena and Events <br />Center and approved the additional items as listed below. <br /> <br />Change Orders <br />1. Change Order Request #SSA- Masonry wall to enclose remainder of <br /> Livestock Building - $28,013.00 <br />2. Change Order Request #58B - Wall system on top of masonry to complete <br /> enclosure of Livestock Building - $22,341.00 <br /> <br />Additional Items <br />1. Telephone Equipment - Concord Telephone - $61,445.67 <br />2. Voice Cabling NCT - $11,742.00 (This is an adjustment to the <br /> original contract; Needed to purchase specialized equipment for the <br /> proposed system) <br /> <br />(B-13) Food Set.ices Agreement be=ween Cab&true County and The Compass <br />~roup for the Bxpo Perk <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Food Services Management <br />Agreement between Cabarrus County and Compass Group USA, Inc. for food <br />services at the Expo and authorized the County Manager to execute the <br />contract on behalf of Cabarrus County. The initial term of the Agreement was <br />for a period of ten (10) years. <br /> <br />(~-14) Resolution to Convey Surplus Vehicle ~o the Flowe store Volunteer Fire <br />Department <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ) <br /> ) <br />CABARRUS COUNTY ) <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 2002-35 <br />RESOLL~ION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County has one (1) 1995 4-door Ford, vehicle <br />identification number 2FALP71WOSX169238~ and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Board desires to dispose of the above referenced <br />equipment; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A, Article 12 sets forth <br />procedures and requirements for counties in selling and disposing of <br />property. Procedures include private negotiation and sale, sale by sealed <br />bids, auction, upset bids, and exchanges; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A-279 provides that any <br />governmental unit may convey personal proper~y to any o~her entity carrying <br />out a public purpose, without compensation. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus <br />County as follows: <br /> <br /> That in accordance with the provisions of General Statute 160A-267, <br />this Board authorizes the County Purchasing Agent ~o dispose of the above <br />referenced personal property no earlier than ten (10) days after a notice <br />summarizing the contents of the resolution is published once. Also, pursuant <br />to General Statute 160A-279, the aforementioned personal property may be <br />conveyed to the Flowe Store Volunteer Fire Department without compensation. <br /> <br />Adopted this 21sc day of October 2002. <br /> <br /> <br />
