ACTION TAKEN BY T'HE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE WATER AND SEWER <br /> AUTHORITY OF CABARRUS COUNTY ON NOVEMBER 21, 2002 <br /> <br /> Following are the actions taken by the WSACC Board at their regula/ meeting on <br />Thursday, November 21, 2002. Presentation of Certificate to WSACC for Participation in the 2002 Big Sweep Waterway <br />Clean-up - Cabarms County Watershed Improvement Commission- Tommy Porter, of the <br />Cabarrus County Watershed Improvement Commission, will be at the meeting to present <br />WSACC with a certificate for their participation 'in the 2001 Big Sweep Waterway Clean-up. <br /> <br />UNFIN,ISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />2. Request for Approval to Develop a Regional Drought Management Plan and Draft. <br />Jurisdictional Agreement- Black & Veatcl~ Inc. - In October, a proposal was submitted by <br />Black & Veatch, Inc., to prepare a Regional Drought Management Plan and Draft Jurisdictional <br />Agreement (Plan). The item was deferred to the November meeting in order to give staff time to <br />again review whether the cost associated with the Plan is reasonable. Since the last Board <br />meeting, WSACC, Concord and Kannapolis staffhave met to review the scope-of-work and the <br />breakdown of the cost. WSACC, Concord and Kannapolis support the proposal and agree with <br />the cost, which is not to exceed $55,000. WSACC staff recommends approval of a contract with <br />Black & Veatch, Inc., in an mount not to exceed $55,000 for the preparation of the Plan and <br />drafting of the Jurisdictional Agreement. <br /> <br /> Action taken: approved a contract with Black & Veatch for the development of a <br />Regional .Drought Management Plan and a draft..Jurisdictional Agreement in an amount <br />not to exceed $55,000. However, staff will revisit the number of man-hours projected in the <br />contract and attempt to further reduce the contract amount identified above by decreasing <br />the man-hours within the contract if possible. <br /> <br /> <br />
