Cook, Jr., Social Services Director, recognised Ms. <br />Carolyn ~ur~ who will retire on December 31, 2000 after Ss~ years of service <br />with Cabarr~s county. Ms. Eury began work at the Department of Social <br /> <br />Adm/nistrator for the Children's Services Division. <br /> <br /> Ms. Eury recognized family members and co-workers who were present for <br />it had been a pleasure to work with Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> On behalf of the Board, Chail~an Fennel presented M~. ~ur~ with a <br />plaque in appreciation for her service to Ca, ar,us County and its citizens. <br /> <br />appreciation for her outstanding work with the Department of Social services. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Status Report on Ki~hwa~ 73 Road Stua~' P=o~act <br /> <br /> Mr. Marshall presented a status report on the NC 79 Access Management <br />Study. Ha stated the recent resorting for the Moss Creek Development o'ff NC <br />73 at Odell School Road included a condition tha~ ~he developer would <br />contribute $50,000.00 for an Access Management Study which the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation (NCDOT) had indicated would speed up funding for <br />improvements to NC 73. The developer's contribution did no= cover the total <br />cost of the study; however, each of the six co~mun/ties affected by the study <br />had agreed to a $10,000.00 contribution.
