COMPARTSON AND ANALYSTS WITH EXTSTTNG ORDTNANCE <br /> <br />ARTTCLE 10 <br /> <br />Purpose: The purpose of this article is to define street types and set standards <br />for those streets. It includes connectivity and access standards also. <br /> <br />Major Points Discussed: <br />· Differentiates between public and private streets. <br />· Defines street type so that the UDO may <br /> thoroughfare plans. <br />· Requires interconnection, and multiple access <br /> dispersion, and efficiency of public services. <br /> <br />be cross-referenced with <br />points for safety, traffic <br /> <br />Limits access points on major thoroughfares to preserve their integrity for <br />transportation. <br /> <br />Major Similarities/Differences: <br />10.1.2 Public and Private Streets. <br />Existing regulations define these similarly, although current ordinances do not <br />include street classifications and references to thoroughfare planning. <br /> <br />:t0.:[.5 Street Connectivity. <br />This is an entirely new concept. The County Planning and Zoning Commission <br />has emphasized multiple access points, but this is the first attempt to codify that <br />with an index number. <br /> <br />10.1.8 Access Management. <br />Current ordinances regulate access through the Thoroughfare Overlay Zone in <br />Chapter 4 of the Zoning Ordinance. This ordinance expands access management <br />to roads beyond major t. horoughfai'es..There have been requests from the public <br />to expand access management, such as was done through the Rimer Community <br />Overlay Zone. <br /> <br />Examples: <br /> <br />Examples have been given in previous workshops of the how the connectivity <br />ratio would work with developments approved over the last two years. <br /> <br /> <br />
