Civics in our schools <br /> <br />The course that we called "civics" is now <br />part of a broader ELP cOurse (Economic, <br />Legal, and Political Systems in Action), <br />which covers a lot of territory: <br /> <br />- US and NC Constitutions <br />- Legislation and law enforcement <br />- Federal, state, and local government <br />- Macro- and microeconomics <br />- Public policy <br /> <br />The high school course that includes civics covers a lot of territory: key' <br />provisions of the United States and North Carolina Constitutions; how <br />legislation is enacted and our laws are enforced; the roles of federal, state, and <br />local government and the relationships among them; macroeconomics and <br />microeconomics, including making economic choices; and the formulation of <br />public policy. <br /> <br /> <br />
