Mr. Harwood, <br /> <br /> First of all, may I extend thanks to you and Cabarrus County for you help and support <br />as NuCare Carolina, Inc. becomes NuCare Carolina Ambulance, Inc. As I stated to you in <br />our most recent telephone conversation, the timing of the change over to the new <br />company is critical. Applying for and receiving our new medicare provider license is <br />what is driving the timing issue. It may become necessary for us to begin operation as <br />NuCare Carolina Ambulance, Inc. prior to the granting ora new/~anchise. To that end I <br />submit to you the following mutual aid agreement. <br /> <br />Agreement for Mutual Aid Between Cabarrus County EMS and NuCare Carolina <br /> Ambulance, Inc. <br /> <br /> NuCare Carolina Ambulance, Inc. agrees to provide 24-hour non-emergency <br />ambulance coverage to Cabarms County. The services of NuCare rendered under this <br />agreement shall be done so under the auspices and direction of yourself and your <br />depathnent, and the scope of care provided shall include Basic Life Support and <br />Intermediate Life Support levels. <br /> <br /> This agreement shall become effective automatically upon our notification to you that <br />NuCare Carolina Ambulance, Inc. is to begin operation, and Shall terminate upon 15 days <br />written notice by either party. When NuCare Carolina Ambulance, Inc. becomes an <br />ambulance franchisee of Cabarrus County, the terms and conditions of the franchise shall <br />supercede this agreement. <br /> <br />Kevin B.
