NuCare is terminating service in Cabarrus County
effective June 30, 2001.

Specialized Transport and Harrisburg Volunteer Fire and Rescue Inc. are the remaining
agencies. Both have met all of the requirements mandated in the Cabarrus County Code
of Ordinances.

Presently, Specialized Transport is assisting with non-emergency transports through a
mutual aid agreement.

I've received only positive comments about their service here and in the surrounding
counties that they serve.

Additionally, Dan Harbinson, NC Office.of EMS Regional Coordinator for our region
also has high praise and recommendation for this agency.

Harrisburg Volunteer Fire and Rescue Inc. has often assisted during high demands for
non-emergency transfers in addition to providing backup support for Cabarrus EMS.

Since NuCare is terminating service, I support both agencies in their requests.

Thank you for your consideration.

i-~me?g',mcy ~Jiedical Services
3 Wil!r~,,¥brookDrive o Concord, NC28027 ~ (704)920-2600
