Both of these outstanding community leaders were appointed by the Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners to fill out the unexpired portions of the terms of trustees <br />they replaced. We now request that they both be reappointed in their own right. <br /> <br />Gayle W. Deal <br /> <br />Gayle W. Deal was appointed on September 7, 2000, to fill out the remaining year of Ben <br />Mynatt's four-year term expidng June 30, 2001. Ben resigned because of his health <br />problems after many years of distinguished service. <br /> <br />As you know Gayle has been active in the Cabarrus business community for some time <br />and has served as chair of the Chamber as well as president of the Cabarrus Personnel <br />Association. She is very well connected with area employers and is well known as a <br />community leader who is a hard worker dedicated to the productive quality growth of <br />Cabarrus County. She is very knowledgeable about the rote of the community college in <br />meeting the educational needs and work force development needs of our citizens. Gayle <br />Deal is willing to serve, and we respectfully request that she be reappointed at your earliest <br />convenience. Attached is a copy of the newspaper article covering Gayle Deal's <br />appointment last September. <br /> <br />Irvin T. Newberry. <br /> <br />Irvin T. Newberry was appointed on August 17, 1998, to fill out the remaining three years <br />of Lynn Scott Safrit's four-year term expiring June 30, 2001. Lynn Scott Safrit resigned <br />because of the pressure of her many work responsibilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
