Deal named to RCCC board of trustees KANNAPOLIS -- Cabarets County commis- sioners have appointed Gayle W. Deal of Kanaapolis to the Rowan- ~ Cabarms Community College ~ board of trustees. ' ~ Deal replaces Ben F. Mynatt, ~;:J~ who served 11 years on the board. ~)~:;J~ He was vice chairman from 1993 ~;~4~1~ to 1999. ~:.~j~ As a trustee, Mynatt served on .~ the board's personnel, building & ~ grounds, institutional develop- ment, and executive committees. He also serves as a member of the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College foundation. He received the college's dis- ' tinguished service award in 1999 and was a member of the Cabarms advisory council, which planned and established RCCC~s South Campus. · Deal is the execmi've director for business health so, ices at Deal Mynatt NorthEast Medical Center; She has been empioyed by the medical center in various· administrativ~ roles for more than 20 years. She is the immediate past chair of the board of directors of the Cabarms Regional Chamber of Commerce and fmzner chair of the Cabanas Regional Chamber workforce development steer- ing comm2tte¢. Deal is a member of the Kannapolis Education Foundation board of directors, the City of Kannapolis vision cabinet, the Cabarrus Personnel Association, and a senior account executive with United Way. She is a former member of the 'Cannon YMCA board of directors. Deal is a registered nurse with a master of pub- Ii9 administration degree from UNC-Charlotte and a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Wingate University. She is. a graduate of the Cabarrus Memorial Hosphal School of Nursing. She is maffied to Leonard M. Deal. They have a daughter, Julie, and a son, Garrett. Deal is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis where she serves'as vice chair of the church council.
