<br />Sen'ices fi~r Families with Income al or Below 200% of Poverty Level
<br />
<br />Cabarrus County will provide services to families with income at or below 200% of
<br />the poverty level during FY 2001-03. The purpose of these services will be to assist
<br />families in obtaining or maintaining stable employment and avoiding the potential for
<br />welfare dependency. These services can also be provided to romper recipients of cash
<br />assistance when they have a case opened in the Services lntbrmation System (SIS).
<br />Services provided to families will be used to meet state MOE requirements. The
<br />following services will be available to families in this category:
<br />1. A full family assessment by a social worker to determine what the needs of the
<br /> family actually are.
<br />2. A referral to and assistance with obtaining new or upgraded employment through
<br /> interviews with ESC consultants.
<br />3. Assistance with time-limited transportation services.
<br />4. Assistance with one-time work related expenses.
<br />5. Social work services to assist the fm'nily in stabilizing their situation.
<br />6. Budgetary counseling by a qualified professional.
<br />7. Depending on income, assistance with one-time financial assistance programs.
<br /> such as General Assistance. Emergency Assistance. CIP. or LIEAP.
