Transportation <br />Advisory Board <br /> <br />FY 2002 CTP Application <br />Information and Policy <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />your assigned PTD Transportation Consultant amd updated periodically to <br />document progress. <br /> <br />The PTD will coordinate the initiation and completion dates of plans where a <br />similar regional l~an.qportation characteristic exists. <br /> <br />The county and the community transportation system will work cooperatively to <br />identify regional transportation opportunities w/thin the CTS? or new plannin'g <br />process under development. <br /> <br />'~ 2. Community and Agency Involvement <br /> <br />(a) Each system will have a county commissioner approved transportation <br /> advisory/governing body made up of representatives from the following <br /> organi?ations: <br /> <br />· Core hnrnan service agency and program ?epresentatives (referenced below); <br />· Smart Start (where applicable); <br />· Employ~rnent Security Commission; <br />· Job Link Career Centers/School to Work (where applicable); <br />· Civic organizations; <br />· Private citizens; . <br />· Chamber of CornmerceFEconom/c Development; <br />· Business/Industry; <br />· Local elected officials and staff; <br />· Emergency Medical Services (EMS); <br />· Private transportation providers; <br />· Faith Community leaders; and <br />· Urban transit providers (where applicable) <br />· Center for Independent Liv/ng (or equivalent) <br /> <br />It is important to include a representative from a local Independent Living. Center, or <br />other similar organization dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities live as <br />independently as possible, on your board to ensure that public transportation services <br />continue to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. The American~ With <br />Disabilities Act reqttires that each public transportation provider have in place a <br />process to ensure continuing public involvement, including that ofindivid,mls with <br />disabilities, in the pl~nnlng and delivery of transportation services. <br /> <br />Individuals may represent more than one (1) agency. In addition, ex-officio and <br />members ora subcommittee that are not on the ad¼.sory/governlng board may be <br />counted to fulfill this requirement <br /> <br />Co) The transportation advisory/governing body composition will also be addressed in <br /> <br /> <br />
