Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />PROC?.AMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />The Convoy of Hope is a nonprofit organization founded to assist <br />churches in reaching out to the lost and hurting in their community. <br />They work with local organizations and churches to feed the hungry <br />and make sure all those who come are cared for and loved, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />At the event, they seek to meet the physical and spiritual needs of <br />each guest and encourage local churches and groups to continue <br />reaching out to people in their community, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />Their mission is to unite and mobilize local churches across <br />denominational, racial and socioeconomic lines to help those in need <br />by combining the distribution of nutritious food with Christian <br />ministry in a festive atmosphere, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />The purpose is to bring together thousands of Christian volunteers, <br />churches, civic organizations, and businesses across the United <br />States to assist families in need, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, we the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North <br />Carolina, proclaim November 17, 2001, as <br /> <br />CONVOY OF HOPE DAY <br /> <br />in Cabarrus County. We urge all citizens to use this occasion to come together and help <br />families in need. <br /> <br />Given under my hand and seal this 22nd day of October 2001. <br /> <br />Ame L.
