Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />~W BUSINESS <br /> <br />Cabar~s County Zoning Ordinance - Proposed Text Amendment to Add Self- <br />Storage Facilities to Permitted Uses in the Light Industrial District - <br />Publi= ~earinq - 6:30 <br /> <br /> Mr. Jonathan Marshall, Planning Services Director, presented the <br />proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to add self-storage facilities to <br />the Limited Industrial District as a permitted use with special standards. <br />This type of facility is allowed only in Commercial Districts at this time. <br /> <br /> At 7:23 p.m., Chairman Fennel opened the public hearing concerning the <br />proposed amendment and asked if anyone wished to speak either for or against <br />it. The required Public Hearing Notice was published in THE INDEPENDENT <br />TRIBUNE. <br /> <br /> There was no one present to address the Board, and Chairman Fennel <br />closed the public hearing. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Freeman, seconded by Chairman Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Ordinance. <br /> <br />PETITION C01-02(ZT) <br /> AN ORDINANCE ANENDING THE CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED that the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 3-7: LIMITED INDUSTRIAL ZONE <br /> <br />Add: self-storage facilities to the list of uses permitted by standards <br /> <br />Section 7-4: USES PERMITTED BASED ON STANDARDS <br /> <br />41. Self-Service Storage Facilities. <br /> <br />Add: limited industrial <br /> <br />3) Building Height. <br /> <br />Add: c) Limited Industrial: Height maKimums are governed by the zone see <br />Chapter 5 - Dimensional Requirements. <br /> <br />5) Minimum/Maximum lot sizes. <br /> <br />Add: c) Limited Industrial <br /> Minimum lot size - one acre <br /> Maximum lot size ~ five acres <br /> <br />7) Storage. <br /> <br />Add: The limited industrial zone will allow for up to 20% of the site to be <br />used for outdoor storage. All o~door storage must be screened. See Chapter <br />9 for buffering requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />
