8o <br /> <br />Home & Community <br />Care Block Grant <br />Steering Committee <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Block Grant Advisory Committee Criteria <br /> <br />i) <br /> <br />The advisory committee must represent a broad range of aging <br />interest in order to effectively build local consensus on the <br />county funding plan. A viable committee will not be viewed as <br />being predisposed to supporting particular providers or favoring <br />specific interests. Representation should include the following: <br /> <br />-area agencies on aging must be represented as specified in <br />Section V(B) of these instructions <br /> <br />-aging service providers (public, private nonprofit, and for-profit) <br /> <br />-local elected officials and civic leaders <br /> <br />-older consumers (the Division of Aging strongly recommends <br />that older consumers comprise 1/3 of the Advisory Committee <br />memberskip) <br /> <br />ii) <br /> <br />The committee shall function as a resource to the lead agency by <br />obtaining input from provid.er interests, older consumers and <br />their families and, providing consensus on the contents of the <br />funding plan. <br /> <br /> <br />
