ResoluUon No. 2001- <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION HONORING THE <br /> <br />FIRST ASSEMBLY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL <br />LAD YEA GLE$ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the First Assembly Christian School Volleyball Team, the "Lady <br />Eagles," won the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association Volleyball <br />Championship on October 27, 2001, defeating the volleyball team of Asheville School <br />30-10, 30-19, and 30-25; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State championship victory was the culmination of a highly <br />successful 2001 volleyball season for the team which had an impressive record of 29- <br />3; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lady Eagles continued to demonstrate their superior playing <br />skills at the National Association of Christian Athletes Tournament on November 2, <br />2001, in Dayton, Tennessee, finishing an outstanding second of the 23 participating <br />teams; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the national tournament, the Lady Eagles also received the <br />coveted "Best Sportsmanship Award", having been unanimously selected by the <br />coaches of the competing teams; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the success of this amazing team, through their display of good <br />sportsmanship, motivation and inspired team play, has brought tremendous pride and <br />recognition not only to the team members but also to their school and the entire <br />community. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim December 17, 2001 as <br /> <br />LADY EAGLES DAY <br /> <br />in Cabarrus County and call upon all citizens to join in saluting these outstanding <br />athletes of First Assembly Christian School and Coach Lee Hunt for a job well done! <br /> <br />Adopted this the 17th day of December 2001. <br /> <br />Arne L.
