Box 707 <br />Concord, NC 28026-0707 <br /> <br />Subject: Tree Blockage - Coddle Creek <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Clifton: <br /> <br /> Enclosed is a proposal from Ritchie Construction Company, Inc. (Ritchie), for the <br />removal of the logjam on Coddle Creek and restoration of the bank. My staff has checked into <br />the situation and there is no erosion to the bank near our sewer line and the right-of-way that <br />you and I discussed is very minimal and applies only to Mr. Love (estimated to be <br />considerably less than $1000). Staff believes this to be a very good quotation and we <br />recommend Cabarrus County proceed to contract with Ritchie to remove the logjam and <br />restore the bank. WSACC is contracting with them to remove the logs on Cold Water Creek. <br /> <br /> Since there is no impact to the sewer line right-of-way, both existing or future, I <br />believe this to be a situation that is more appropriately dealt with and financed by some entity <br />other than the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County.
