CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Meeting Date: 3/20/00 Agenda Item #~__,w _ SUBJECT: Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee The term of appointment for Ms. Joyce Kluttz ended on 2/28/00. She is eligible for reappointment for a term of three years and has indicated her interest in reappointment. The Board appointed Ms. Martha E. T. Hagood to the advisory committee on 8/30/99. The Board also appointed Ms. Hagood to the Department of Aging Advisory Committee on 2/21/00. The County's Appointment Policy limits membership to one committee unless the Board waives the dual membership provision, finding "evidence of special circumstances to justify service on two boards." Ms. Hagood has completed the required training for the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee and has been an active participant in committee visits. Due to the difficulty in recruiting members for this committee and the time involved in training new members, the Board is requested to consider an exception of the dual membership provision and allow Ms. Hagood to continue service on both committees. She has indicated her willingness to continue as a member of the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee if allowed to do so. REQUESTED ACTION: Consider the reappointment of Ms. doyce Kluttz for a term of three years and consider the waiver of the dual membership provision of the Appointment Policy to allow Ms. Martha E. T. Hagood to continue membership on the committee.
